September 22, 2015, Amsterdam – Today TAUS releases a new web site and a subscription program. The new web site makes the TAUS services more accessible and easier to use. The new subscription program allows individual professionals and small and large companies to benefit from all the resources, data, metrics, tools and knowledge on the TAUS industry-shared platform.

The new TAUS web site offers the industry-shared resources and tools under three headings: the Quality Dashboard, the TAUS Academy and the Data Cloud. The Quality Dashboard is the latest addition to the TAUS member services and is released at the same time as the new web site. It presents a platform for measuring, tracking and benchmarking translation productivity, efficiency and quality. The Quality Dashboard is made possible by the API that TAUS released under an open-source license in June of this year. The DQF API allows translation technology developers and users to integrate their tools with the TAUS Dynamic Quality Framework (DQF) in order to get real-time reporting on their translation performance.

The TAUS Academy brings the knowledge bases, reports, best practices, directories of technologies and post-editors together under one program with the TAUS online courses in post-editing and quality management with DQF. The Data Cloud is the industry’s largest repository of translation memory data, now containing already more than 62 Billion words in over 2,200 language pairs.

“Two years ago we announced to our members that TAUS was going to transform from a think tank to a platform for industry-shared services,” says Jaap van der Meer, director of TAUS. “We are very proud to say that we have now successfully made this transition. The three TAUS shared services of translation quality evaluation, knowledge sharing and training, and translation memory data sharing clearly fit a growing demand. We see our membership and user base growing rapidly.”

To allow a much larger audience of small, medium and larger providers and buyers of translation as well as individual translators and professionals benefit from the industry-shared services, metrics and tools, TAUS is now offering a subscription service in addition to the membership. The Basic subscription is free and lets users benefit from a lot of the reports and resources. Professional and Business subscriptions start at respectively €25 and €80 a month and give access to among others detailed benchmarking reports.
