Anne-Maj van der Meer

Anne-Maj has been with TAUS since 2007 and transformed from bookkeeper and accounts receivable into Director of Events and Member Services. She is also managing and editing content for the TAUS website as well as designer of TAUS reports and leaflets. She has studied English Language and Literature at the University of Amsterdam and Creative Writing at Harvard University.

Mark Seligman

Dr. Mark Seligman is founder, President, and CEO of Spoken Translation, Inc. His early research concerned automatic generation of multi-paragraph discourses, inheritance-based grammars, and automatic grammar induction. During the 1980’s, he was the founding software trainer at IntelliCorp, Inc., a forefront developer of artificial intelligence programming tools. His research associations include ATR Institute International near Kyoto, where he studied numerous aspects of speech-to-speech translation; GETA (the Groupe d’Étude pour la Traduction Automatique) at the Université Joseph Fourier in Grenoble, France; and DFKI (Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz) in Saarbrücken, Germany. In the late 1990s’, he was Publications Manager at Inxight Software, Inc., commercializing linguistic and visualization programs developed at PARC. In 1997 and 1998, in cooperation with CompuServe, Inc., he organized the first speech translation system demonstrating broad coverage with acceptable quality. He established Spoken Translation, Inc. in 2002.

Anna Samiotou

Anna is responsible for the TAUS Data platform and specialises in multilingual data collection, management and quality evaluation for MT, NLP and LT industrial and R&D projects. Active in the field of translation and language technologies since 1993, she holds a degree in Mathematics and two masters in MT and CAT tools. She is passionate about multilingual and multicultural communication, events and travels.

Karen Combe

Karen Combe is Vice President of Localization at PTC, where she is responsible for product localization as well as for localization support for Global Services, Technical Support, and Marketing. Previously, Karen was the president of the internationalization and localization consultancy firm Combe Consulting, and Senior Vice President at International Language Engineering, where she managed Client Services, Sales and Marketing. Karen holds a B.A in Linguistics from the University of California at Berkeley and a post-graduate degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Cambridge. She served in the Peace Corps in Senegal and in International Voluntary Services in Algeria.

Toos Stoker

Toos studied Language Diversity of Africa, Asia and Native America at the University of Leiden. During and after her studies she worked as a copywriter and contentmarketeer. Now she is responsible for TAUS's online marketing activities.

Ruben de la Fuente

Ruben de la Fuente joined PayPal in 2008 as a Spanish language specialist.  He is currently a machine translation specialist for PayPal. Ruben has been involved in the localization industry since 2001 in various roles including translator, editor and project manager. He has a great passion for both languages and technology so feels at home in places where these two disciplines meet. Ruben holds a BA in translation from the University of Granada.

Anne Stoker

Anne has been with TAUS since 2016. At TAUS, she is responsible for all Academy content and is the project manager of the TAUS reports and eBooks. She also coordinates blogs, news items and other web-content. She did the Research Master Literary Studies at the University of Leiden and spent part of her studies in the United Kingdom at both the University of Glasgow and the University of Cambridge.

Isabella Massardo

A broadly skilled language professional, Isabella knows translation, written communication and tech innovation. She is an ECQA certified Terminology Manager and holds a master’s degree from the University of Parma, Italy.

Attila Görög

Attila Görög is responsible for the translation quality product line at TAUS. Attila’s challenge is to convince translation buyers and vendors about the flexible nature of quality by promoting tools, metrics and best practices on quality evaluation. He's been involved in various national and international projects on machine translation, terminology management and semantic web.

Paul Mangell

Paul Mangell is an experienced Localization Professional having been part of the Language Industry since 1982.  He has lived and worked in a number of countries, and speaks several languages fluently. He currently works in the area of marketing, sales and communications with Alpha CRC, a global LSP.

Dimitar Shterionov

Dr Dimitar Shterionov, Head MT Researcher at KantanMT leads KantanLabs, an advanced research group committed to advancing language technology. Dimitar holds a PhD in Computer Science from KU Leuven Belgium. He has worked on design and development of Artificial Intelligence software for learning and reasoning with uncertain data. His expertise in A.I. and Machine Learning will be valuable for advancing research and development at KantanMT. Dimitar brings Bulgarian and Greek language knowledge to the team.
