TAUS Conference Health & Safety Protocol

After two years of spending time in virtual settings, we’re eager to get back to in-person events and meeting everyone face-to-face, stimulating brainstorming and inviting thought-provoking discussions. On 11 - 13 October, 2022 you are invited to San Jose, CA for the first in-person TAUS event since November 2019. To make sure everyone feels comfortable and safe, we’ve put together a simple Health & Safety Protocol or COVID-19 guidelines.

These guidelines are put together in December 2021. Should the current COVID situation change or new measures come in place in California, the guidelines will be adjusted accordingly.

The floor plan for the conference room as well as the exhibition pavilion keeps in mind the social distancing rules. Attendees and speakers will be able to sit comfortably at their table or on the stage with enough space between each other. Exhibitor booths are placed a little further apart, providing enough space for visitors at each booth and keeping in mind the social distance.

Use of Face Mask
A face mask covers both the nose and the mouth. Please wear it correctly.
Wear a face mask when moving around in the hallways, exhibition pavilion, on the bus to networking events and all other indoor spaces where you cannot keep the needed social distance.
Face masks can be removed when presenting (either on the stage or as an exhibitor in your booth), when eating or drinking, or when sitting down in the conference space.
People visiting booths in the exhibition pavilion wear a mask, unless they sit down at a social distance.
Basic Hygiene
Wash your hands frequently with water and soap for at least 20 seconds. At the very least do this before and after consuming and/or touching food or drinks, after touching your mouth or nose or blowing your nose, and ideally also after touching public items in public spaces.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
When coughing or sneezing, practice good respiratory hygiene, meaning: cough/sneeze in tissues (avoiding contact with your hands) or when tissues are not available, into your elbow or upper sleeve.
If you’re feeling sick, please stay home.
If you’ve been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19, please get tested. In the meantime, stay home.
Social Distancing
Avoid close contact (within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes) with other conference attendees
When greeting friends and colleagues, do NOT shake hands or hug as we used to. Not everyone feels comfortable with this yet. Rather touch elbows, nod, wave, make a little bow… anything that’s in line with the social distancing.
Extra Cleaning & Sanitizing provided by the Hilton Hotel, most importantly:
Increased cleaning and event room seal 30 minutes prior the start of the event
Sanitizing stations throughout the event spaces
Customized food & beverage stations in line with social distancing
Contactless check-in and check-out procedures
