Learn how to build automated workflows that evaluate your machine translations, fix errors on the fly, and route content seamlessly across your existing tech stack.
Quality Guardrail
The Problem: Localization requires complex file movement across CMS, TMS, and MT engines.
The Solution: Combining Blackbird orchestration with TAUS EPIC adds an automated quality guardrail directly into your existing pipelines.
QE, APE, and Routing
When you add the TAUS EPIC app to your Blackbird workflows ("Birds"), you get access to these AI capabilities:
An automated filter that analyzes source text and machine translation without a human reference, assigning each segment a confidence score from 0 to 1.
Uses LLMs to automatically fix fluency or terminology errors on low-scoring segments, using your own translation memories and glossaries for brand voice.
Build logic into your workflow — e.g. scores above 0.86 push straight to your CMS; lower scores route to a human linguist in your TMS.

An Example Workflow
Because Blackbird handles file format conversions, you can connect these tools without writing custom code.
1. Trigger
A new article is published in your CMS (like Contentful).
2. Translate
Blackbird routes the file to your TMS for MT pre-translation.
3. Evaluate (QE)
The translated file is sent to TAUS EPIC, which scores each segment's quality.
4. Edit (APE)
Low-scoring segments are automatically fixed by EPIC.
5. Decision
Blackbird routes high scores to your CMS and low scores to a linguist.
6. Notify
Your team receives a Slack update when the workflow is complete.
